  • A standard one-way award generally allows two flights, with one connection lasting no more than 24 hours.
  • A round-trip award can allow a longer stopover.
More complex trips
  • Trips returning from a different city or using several airlines have separate routing rules; check Cathay’s award conditions.

From search to booking

Find and book through Cathay

  1. Select Redeem with miles. Sign in and choose business class plus the number of travelers.
  2. Search Cathay or eligible partners. If the partner trip cannot be booked online, use the Flight Award Request Form or contact Cathay.
  3. Add other travelers to your account. Use the Redemption Group settings described below before booking for someone else.

Keep your points working

Managing your miles

Mileage expiration

  • Miles earned since January 2020 remain active with a qualifying credit or debit at least every 18 months. The posting date, rather than the activity date, controls the extension.

Booking for other people

  • Add up to five people to your Redemption Group—the list of travelers you can book for.
  • The first five lifetime registrations are free; later additions or replacements can cost a fee. This does not pool their miles with yours.
